Auditions For Stage Kiss

Bruka Theatre is holding auditions for The Full Length Play - Stage Kiss. Written by Sarah Ruhl. For this comedy the director Christopher Willson is looking for: 4m, 3f. Ages 18 - 50. Bring headshot/resume. Also looking for technical people and volunteers.

2015/16 SEASON AUDITIONS - Monday, August 17 @ 6 PM

Bruka Theatre will hold Season Auditions for our 23rd Season on Monday, August 17 at 6 PM. Auditions will be held for productions including: Buttcracker 6 - Underland (original production), Ann Frank, The Shape Of Things, Deathtrap, Malvolio (original production). Mr Burns - A Post Electric Play, Theatre For Children, The Bruka Greenshow and Lamb's Tales Players, and our Original Werks (original reading series).  

Callbacks will be announced post season auditions by the individual directors.

We are looking for a variety of actors ages 16 and up for various productions. Please bring a headshot or picture and resume and prepare a one minute contemporary monologue or a 2 minute audition that consists of a contemporary monologue and a classic (shakespearean) monologue. We are also looking for technical, backstage and production people for our new season.  

Please enter through the side door on First Street.  Bruka Theatre Of The Sierra, Inc will open the door on First Street at 5:30 of begin sign-ups for auditions on Monday August 17th. Introductions and announcements will begin at 6:05 followed immediately by auditions. You may leave after your audition group has been seen. Bruka Theatre is located at 99 N. Virginia Street, Reno, NV 89501. We are a non-equity, TCG theatre company providing a variety of opportunities including some stipend positions, company member opportunities and volunteer opportunities for our theatre company.

The American Melodrama of Tiburcio Vasquez - Notorious California Bandit.

Bandido!” is an anti-melodrama that takes place during the Gold Rush. It is a play with in a play. At the center of the play is Tiburcio Vasquez, in one light, a resistance fighter to his people, in another, a desperado whose story has become part of the American mythology of the Old West. He was the last man to be legally, publically executed in California, hanged in San Jose in 1875. The brave villain or hero, tells his story through flashbacks. While Vasquez is in jail, he sells photographs of himself for fifty cents. He makes his stories of love, jealousy, and betrayal come to life. Valdez, in “Bandido” is not only famous for his exploits but for his womanizing. He leaves his money and inheritance to Rosario and the daughter he had with her.

Rehearsals - Rehearsals for Bandido! will take place from January-February, 2014 with a read-thru prior this fall.
